The official accounts remain the complete financial record. This page adds a plain-language view of income, expenditure and year-end reserves so supporters can understand the scale and shape of the work.
Donor income, 2018–2023
Using the provisional 2021 comparative from the 2022 accounts, these six years total €5.51 million in donations and sponsorship. Annual income ranged from €695,613 to €1.11 million.
2018
The foundation recorded €878,666 in donations and sponsorship. Direct animal and veterinary care plus boarding represented nearly three quarters of all expenditure, while the year closed with a modest surplus.
How €870,343 of expenditure was allocated
2019
Income was lower than in the surrounding years, but spending remained closely matched to funds received. The annual result was a €360 deficit, effectively a break-even year.
How €695,973 of expenditure was allocated
2020
This was the highest-income year in the six-year series. The main financial statement assigns €784,190 to direct care and boarding, and the foundation ended the year with a small surplus.
How €1,104,840 of expenditure was allocated
2021
Using the comparative figures shown in the 2022 accounts, €694,479 went to direct care and boarding. The foundation recorded a €5,464 deficit and closed with €2,815 in foundation capital.
How €921,219 of expenditure was allocated
2022
Direct care and boarding reached €791,918, the largest share of annual expenditure in the series. A €17,620 surplus strengthened year-end foundation capital to €20,435.
How €944,956 of expenditure was allocated
2023
Donor income remained close to the 2022 level. Veterinary treatment, animal care and accommodation accounted for €743,517. The year closed with a deficit of €8,952.

How to read these figures
“Direct care + boarding” combines veterinary and animal-care costs with animal boarding. Percentages show each category as a share of total expenditure for that year.
