A few days ago, I told you that Let’s Adopt is facing the worst financial crisis in its eighteen-year history. We still do not know whether we will be able to continue.
And then Pepa appeared.
This tiny kitten had been hit by a car and was lying motionless in the middle of a road. Cars drove past her without stopping. There was blood in her mouth, and she could not stand up.
We picked her up and rushed her to the hospital.
The X-rays confirmed a pelvic fracture. Pepa had no sensation or reflexes in her left hind leg. We still do not know whether this is caused by the inflammation and pain or whether the impact damaged the nerve.
She spent the night in the hospital. The following morning, she managed to sit up and started eating. She was then brought to Casa Grande, where she is receiving medication, rest and all the care she needs.
We still do not know whether she will fully recover the use of her leg. But Pepa is no longer lying in the middle of a road.
She is alive. She is safe. She has a chance.
This is why Let’s Adopt must continue.
Our financial crisis did not make Pepa’s pain any less. We could not leave her there. But if this project disappears, animals like her may be left with no one to help them.
We need our community to come together again and help us build a stable base of monthly support. You decide the amount. What we need is to know that we can keep Casa Grande open and respond when the next call comes.
Pepa is safe. Tomorrow, another animal will be waiting.
Help us stay here.
