I have just spent nearly 14 hours on the road, coordinating and carrying out one of the most difficult rescues of my life.
His name is Prince.
He was found by the side of the road, trying to seek refuge inside a stone shed. A place he must have chosen as a cave to hide… and to die. Local villagers discovered him. They called friends of ours in rescue, who contacted us immediately.
What they found was heartbreaking. A dog in extreme pain, terrified, with horrific wounds. Wounds so infected, so crawling with worms and maggots, that he had tried to protect himself — but of course, he couldn’t.
The local vet did what they could. They cleaned the injury, stitched it provisionally. But when I saw those stitches, I knew the truth: most of the skin was necrotic, infected, and this was only a temporary cover-up.
That’s when I got in the car. Fourteen hours on the road to bring Prince to our hospital. To give him the real chance he deserves.
Why This Matters
The video you see today shows those first moments: the shed where he was found, the fear in his eyes, his arrival at the hospital. Look closely at his face. Connect with him. You’ll see a soul who hasn’t given up.
We are used to extreme cases. It’s what we do. But when you see something like this… it hurts. It tears you apart. And it reminds you why we cannot stop.
Why You
This work is costly. It is painful. It takes everything we have.
But here’s the truth: it only happens because of you.
Without you, there is no rescue team. Without you, there is no hospital. Without you, there is no second chance for Prince.
And with you? With you, there is hope. With you, there is a future.
Please, I am asking you to donate today. Help us save Prince. Help us clean and treat these horrific wounds, help us prepare him for surgery, help us give him the life he deserves.
This is not glamorous work. It is heartbreaking. But it is the work of love. And it is the work you make possible.
