We rushed him to the hospital, and what we discovered was heartbreaking. Kiko has advanced leishmaniasis, the parasite has destroyed his eyes. His little body, barely 2.6 kilos, is crawling with fleas, infected, weak, and trembling. One leg is swollen from a dislocated shoulder, and the vets warn amputation may even be necessary.
Right now, Kiko is in intensive care, fighting for every breath.
But there is hope. With treatment, medicine, and constant care, he still has a chance. Kiko wants to live and we cannot let him down.
