Snowflake came to us two weeks ago in one of the worst conditions we have ever seen. He had been run over by a car, his head shattered, his jaw fractured, and his palate torn open.
There is a hole in his palate, and every time he tries to eat, food passes through it into his nasal cavity, causing painful infections. On top of that, he came to us with a severe fungal infection that makes his recovery even harder.
Some people have written to me saying we should give up, that he looks too far gone. But I will not.
Because Snowflake is fighting. He is eating, gaining strength, and his body is responding. Beneath that fragile look is a cat who wants to live.
Tomorrow he will go into surgery. The plan, designed by Dr. Jorge Llinás, is to close the hole in his palate using a special plug that will allow him to heal safely. Our vet Isidor will work alongside Dr. Manuel Alaman, an expert in this technique, to carry out the operation.
It will be a complex surgery, but it is his only chance to live without pain.
Snowflake arrived with no hope. Now he has one, but only if we act together.
Please donate today and help us make tomorrow’s surgery possible. Help us save Snowflake.
