Pepa · Let’s Adopt
Help Pepa get her surgeryMaribel found Pepa motionless in the middle of a road. There was blood in her mouth, cars were passing beside her, and she could not get up. She was tiny, just a few weeks old.
We took her to the hospital. X-rays revealed a fractured pelvis, but there was something else: her left hind leg had no sensation or reflexes. At the time, we did not know whether it might recover.
We have cared for her at Casa Grande since August. We have watched her grow, start playing with the other cats and seek out our affection. We have heard her first purrs and helped her stay clean when she could not do it herself.
Pepa has improved, but her leg still does not respond. She cannot feel it or control it. She drags it whenever she moves, and that dragging could eventually cause wounds.
The vets recommend amputation to improve her quality of life. It is hard to accept that such a little kitten has to lose a leg. But watching her try to follow the others while carrying a limb she cannot use helps us understand why she needs this operation.
We want her to move more easily, play and enjoy the life we saved when we picked her up from that road.
Today, we need your help to pay for her surgery and the care that follows: wound care, medication and check-ups until she recovers.
Please donate, once or monthly. Help us get Pepa the surgery she needs and give her the dignified life she deserves.
