Mimi survived the surgery. But she is still in danger.
The operation managed to stop the urinary disaster that was killing her from the inside. Her bladder was repaired and, at last, she began to produce urine again. For a few hours, it seemed as if we had pulled her back from the edge.
But then another crisis began.
Her hematocrit dropped again, free fluid appeared in her abdomen, and Mimi entered an extremely delicate ICU situation. Right now we are at that terrible point where even helping her means taking a risk. If we give her blood, things could become more complicated. If we do nothing, she may not make it through the night.
That is Mimi’s reality today.
The urinary side is much more controlled now, but her body is still completely overwhelmed. What she needs now is not just to have survived surgery. She needs ICU care, transfusions, constant monitoring, and time for her body to have a real chance to recover.
