When Mimi arrived in Benissa, she was collapsing.
She had already undergone surgery for a traumatic bladder rupture, but once she entered VetClinics, the reality became even more serious. Her abdomen was full of urine. She was severely anemic, hypothermic, and in critical condition.
At that point, nothing else mattered except keeping her alive.
Her shattered pelvis had to wait.
Mimi was taken straight into emergency surgery. Her bladder had to be repaired again. Her abdomen had to be flushed. Drains had to be placed. She needed stabilisation, intensive care, and a blood transfusion.
That first night, we did not know if she would survive.
She did.
But this is not over.
Her kidneys and urinary system have started responding again, which is a very important step. She is producing urine, and her kidney values have started to come down.
That gives us hope.
But Mimi remains in a critical fight.
She has developed a severe anemia that has been extremely difficult to reverse. Even after transfusions, her red blood cell levels have remained dangerously low. She still needs constant monitoring, repeated blood tests, medication, nutritional support, and intensive hospital care.
