Today we brought Gollum for an important checkup.
He weighs almost 61 kilos. He is enormous, funny, stubborn and absolutely impossible not to love. The X-rays show that the plate is in place, the screws look good and there is no visible fracture line. Now the traumatologist will decide whether the plate can finally be removed.
But Gollum still has some medical issues we need to solve. He has two fractured teeth with pulp exposure, which most likely means infection and pain, so we will need to treat that too.
Back at the house, we continue with his rehabilitation. Simple exercises, ramps, stairs, short repetitions, slow progress. This is the work people do not always see, but it is what turns a rescue into a real recovery.
And now comes the most important part.
Gollum is ready for adoption.
