Benji has been waiting for three years.
We rescued him with severe leishmaniasis. His skin was damaged, his face was marked forever, and his body needed treatment. He recovered, but the scars stayed.
And maybe because of those scars, Benji kept being overlooked.
Everyone who met him loved him. He is sweet, gentle, funny and full of life. But again and again, no adoption happened.
Until now.
Benji has finally found his family.
He was getting ready to travel home when we noticed something was wrong with one of his eyes. We took him to the vet immediately.
It is cherry eye, a prolapse of the tear gland.
It will not kill him. But if we leave it untreated, it can damage the eye and put his sight at risk.
Benji needs surgery before he can go home.
We cannot send him to his new family like this. After everything he has survived, and after waiting three years for this chance, we have to fix his eye properly.
Please help us today.
Help us pay for Benji’s surgery, his treatment and his final veterinary checks, so he can travel home healthy and start the life he has waited so long for.
This is what rescue means.
Not only saving them when they are dying.
Also staying with them until they are truly ready to live.
Please donate for Benji today.
