There’s an expression that says, “When it rains, it pours.” Usually, it’s about the weather, and it’s true, we’ve had three days of terrible storms here.
But I’m not talking about the weather. I’m talking about our animals.
Benji, one of the happiest dogs at the Great House, suddenly collapsed yesterday. This is a dog who has been through so much, he came to us with severe leishmaniasis that affected his skin, and yet he recovered beautifully. He has been running around, full of joy, waiting for a family to adopt him.
And then, out of nowhere, everything changed. Yesterday, he couldn’t move. He couldn’t pee. He was in pain, confused, and blocked.
This morning we rushed him to the hospital. What we discovered shocked us all.
Benji’s bladder is full of stones.
Unbelievable. From a happy, healthy dog to this in a matter of hours. He is now at the hospital, and he needs emergency surgery to open his bladder and remove the stones.
This was completely unexpected. We were not prepared for this.
Benji has already survived once because of your kindness. Now, he needs you again.
