Today Sergio and I travelled to Altea, a beautiful coastal village near Isidor’s clinic, to meet a family who wanted to adopt Lulu.
Their story touched us from the beginning. Some time ago they had tried to adopt one of our dogs, Aníbal, but sadly he passed away before the adoption could happen. It was heartbreaking for everyone involved.
Then they saw Lulu.
They wrote to us asking if they could adopt her. The family was already pre-approved, so the only thing left was the most important step: meeting each other.
When we arrived, Lulu was introduced to the family — and to their two dogs. Those first moments are always important. Dogs need to understand each other.
There was curiosity, some sniffing, a little observation… and then Lulu relaxed.
She explored the terrace, approached her new humans confidently, and soon it was clear that everyone was comfortable together.
The house sits high above the coast, with beautiful views of the sea and the mountains. A peaceful place.
After watching Lulu settle in, the decision became obvious.
Lulu is staying.
A family that had lost a beloved rescue dog opened their home again. And Lulu found the place where she belongs.
But the work continues.
Every day we rescue dogs who have nowhere else to go. Some are abandoned, some are injured, and many have never known what it means to be safe.
If you would like to help us continue rescuing animals like Lulu, please consider supporting Let’s Adopt International.
Your support allows us to rescue, treat, and find homes for animals who would otherwise have no chance.
Together, we can give them the future they deserve.
