Snowflake should have died.
That’s what many people said when we rescued him.
His body was broken. His life was hanging by a thread.
But he didn’t die.
We treated him. We waited. We stayed.
And Snowflake did what those who still want to live do: he went on.
A few weeks ago, during Christmas, another blow came.
His only remaining eye developed a severe perforation in the cornea.
We went into surgery.
We implanted an artificial cornea.
The surgery was a success.
For a moment, we breathed.
But sometimes the body doesn’t accept what is trying to save it.
And that is what has happened now.
The implant has been rejected.
The cornea is perforated again.
And if we don’t intervene once more, Snowflake will lose his sight completely.
This is where we are.
There are no grand promises.
There are no absolute guarantees.
There is only one clear decision: to try again.
Snowflake has fought too hard to give up now.
And we are not going to leave him alone at this point.
We need to go back into surgery.
And to do that, we need help.
If you can stand with us, we are here.
If you can carry a part of this story, it means everything.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for not looking away.
