Today Brenda has started a new life.
After everything she has been through, after the rescue and the time spent waiting, the moment we always hope for has finally arrived: Brenda has gone home.
Her new family is Sandra, a woman with a very special history with animals. For seventeen years she shared her life with her little dog Kiara. When Kiara passed away, the emptiness she left behind was enormous, something anyone who has ever loved a dog will understand perfectly.
When Sandra sent us photos and videos of Kiara, we didn’t need to know anything else. For us, it doesn’t really matter whether someone owns a big house or a small one, whether they rent or what they do for a living. What truly matters is how someone has loved their dog.
If a person has cared for their dog for seventeen years, we know that love is real.
Today, when Sandra picked Brenda up for the first time, everything felt very natural. Brenda immediately settled in her arms, as if she had always belonged there.
Now Brenda begins a new life, with long walks, peace and quiet, and most importantly, someone who loves her.
And in the end, that is all that really matters.
