Marta came to us after an act of cruelty that changed her life forever. A hunter shot her in the spine, leaving her paralysed. She was a small, vulnerable dog who had been violently injured and left with a future that suddenly looked impossible.
When we saw her, we could not leave her behind. There was something about Marta that broke our hearts, but also something that made us want to fight for her immediately. She needed protection. She needed medical care. She needed a home where her disability would not make her unwanted.
Marta has now been with us for twelve years. She is one of our beloved seniors, one of those animals who quietly become part of the soul of the refuge. Her life has not been easy, but it has been safe, loved and protected. That matters. For dogs like Marta, rescue does not end the day they arrive. Rescue continues every morning, every night, every time we clean, feed, carry, monitor, comfort and adapt the world around them.
Sponsoring Marta means helping us care for one of the old souls of Let's Adopt. Her needs are permanent: food, hygiene, mobility support, veterinary checks, comfort, medication when required and the daily attention that allows a paralysed senior dog to live with dignity.
Marta is not a tragic story. She is a life that was almost discarded and instead became precious. When you sponsor her, you help us keep the promise that cruelty would not have the final word.
