Daphne still loses her balance. But look at her now

    Daphne’s update

    Help care for Daphne

As soon as Daphne sees her bowl, she wants to get to it. We have to stay beside her because she still wobbles, but there’s nothing wrong with her appetite. Afterwards, she looks for affection. Sit down beside her and she’ll settle herself on top of you.

It’s good to see her like this, especially when I remember how she arrived.

The police rescued her dehydrated, terribly weak and barely able to stand. She needed help even to eat or drink, and she had been left completely without care.

The genetic test confirmed an inherited disease that affects her balance. Sadly, there is no cure. I wish I could have given you different news.

Now, at the Great House, she eats eagerly, stays on her feet for longer and seeks out her carers. She has grown especially close to Amparo. There’s a moment in the video, with Daphne settled across one of her carers’ legs, that makes me smile every time I watch it.

Daphne is still ill. She is also enjoying her life with us.

We help her walk and have adapted her space to reduce the risk of injury. Looking better doesn’t mean she is cured, but the care she receives is changing her daily life. We’ll keep watching over her with her vets and adapting to what she needs.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video. I want you to meet this Daphne.

If you can, please help us with a donation. Your support pays for her veterinary attention and daily care. If you choose to help every month, we can count on you as we continue caring for her.

Thank you for helping us look after her.

    Viktor
