Liska Is Coming Home, But the Fight Isn’t Over

Yesterday we left Liska in the ICU.

She was weak, she did not want to eat, and she could barely move. We did not know what was happening or how she would get through the night.

This morning the hospital called us with good news: Liska was better. She was standing, she had eaten, she was more alert, and she was wagging her tail.

We went to bring her home right away.

The tests do not indicate pancreatitis and, for now, they have not found a clear serious cause. Everything points to a strong episode of pain, possibly related to her general condition, her recent surgery, or the tumors that are still there.

Today Liska is coming home. Back to her bed. Back with us.

But this is not over.

Liska still has cancer and metastasis in her lymph nodes. Now we have to meet with oncology and decide what path makes sense for her, always putting her quality of life first.

Today we can breathe a little.

Tomorrow we keep fighting for her.

Please help us continue caring for Liska.
