I have read comments saying that maybe we should stop fighting for Snowflake.
That is not how we work.
When we take responsibility for an animal, our job is not to give up. Our job is to find a way to treat him.
Snowflake is not an idea. He is a real cat, with real suffering, who is now fighting to keep the only eye he has left.
Of course a blind cat can still live a good life. But as long as there is a real chance to save that eye, our moral and veterinary duty is to try.
If it fails in the end, it fails.
But Snowflake is not going to go blind because we gave up too soon.
He may go blind if everything fails. But not because we stopped fighting. Not because we stopped loving him. Not because we failed in our responsibility.
That is who we are.
And today, Snowflake needs us again.
