Dorian is an adorable Chow Chow who came to us after being found in a village in Valencia with terrible wounds on his face. What had happened to him was brutal. His face carried the evidence of pain, neglect and trauma, and he needed immediate help.
We brought him under our care and began the long process of healing. His wounds eventually closed, but they left something behind: the unforgettable face he has today. We often say Dorian wears the mask of a lovable bandit. It is not a mask of sadness. It is the face of a survivor. A face marked by what happened, but not destroyed by it.
Dorian is gentle, sweet and deeply endearing. There is something almost cinematic about him: serious at first glance, then impossible not to love. His appearance tells one part of the story. His character tells the rest. He is not defined by the wounds he survived. He is defined by the life he has been able to build after them.
