What an incredible dog she is.
Iris is suffering from advanced leishmaniasis. She arrived deeply depressed, exhausted, and very sick. But I know this disease well, and I know something else too: when treatment begins to work, dogs like Iris can recover in truly extraordinary ways.
There is something important I need to share with you.
As you know, we are going through a very difficult moment with our veterinary bills, and even so, I couldn’t say no to Iris. She was simply too sick. Without help, she would not have made it through Christmas.
Iris is our Christmas rescue.
Right now, she is at the hospital receiving treatment for leishmaniasis, and on top of that, she has a torn cruciate ligament, which will require surgery as soon as she is stable.
She has a real chance.
