Today I want to talk to you about a very special kitten, Magic.
He came to us tiny, fragile, and in terrible condition. Both of his eyes were destroyed by infection. The first time we saw him, it was heartbreaking. We knew his life would never be easy.
Soon after came Alaska, another kitten with one eye already gone and the other fighting to survive. We treated them both, cleaned their eyes daily, and waited for them to grow strong enough for surgery.
Now, that moment has come.
Alaska will be okay. She will keep one eye. She will look like a little pirate, brave and beautiful.
But for Magic, both eyes must be removed. The infection destroyed everything, and now the only way to end his pain is through surgery.
Magic has already adapted to blindness. He eats, plays, and finds his way. This surgery will not take away his world. It will free him from suffering and give him the chance to live without pain.
