Cairo, a sweet and gentle 8-month-old dog, was found with a terrible fracture in one of his legs. His injury wasn’t accidental, locals suspect that someone deliberately harmed him. When neighbors complained, Cairo’s owner ominously remarked, “I’ve taken care of it; he won’t be a bother anymore.” Shortly after, Cairo disappeared for two days and reappeared with his leg severely broken.
Without intervention, Cairo faced euthanasia at the local pound. Seeing him in pain, his fractured bone threatening to pierce his skin, broke my heart. We couldn’t let this gentle soul suffer any longer.
We immediately traveled to rescue him and brought him to safety. Cairo now needs urgent surgery to correct his leg. It’s a complicated procedure requiring expert veterinary care to realign his bone with surgical plates. Without this operation, Cairo will suffer permanent disability and chronic pain.
