We rescued Ringo just three days ago. He came to us with some of the most horrific injuries we’ve seen in a very long time, terrible wounds covering his back and neck. He’s now fighting for his life in intensive care at our hospital.
This is, without any doubt, one of the most shocking and heartbreaking cases we’ve faced recently. Ringo is incredibly sweet; he’s gentle and brave, yet right now he struggles deeply with trusting humans. Sometimes we have to use a muzzle, not because he’s aggressive, but simply because he’s terrified and in immense pain. Deep down, I know he just wants to feel safe and loved.
Each day involves multiple sedations, painful dressing changes, and now staples to keep his wounds from reopening. Imagine how it feels to have even a small cut on your arm or leg—now multiply that pain a thousandfold. Ringo has lost a significant portion of his skin in a traumatic, violent way, and the images are beyond words. His suffering is profound, and it breaks our hearts.
