I am left almost speechless, We’ve discovered the unimaginable truth behind Chico’s fracture and his suffering:
CHICO HAS BEEN SHOT! … Chico, our rescue dog who has won the hearts of so many in our network HAS BEEN SHOT.
Yes, you read that correctly. Someone aimed a weapon at a defenseless, weak, and already-ill dog, and pulled the trigger. And even more horrifyingly, this person did so NOT with the intention of a quick, albeit cruel, end to Chico’s life, but with the sole purpose of causing him prolonged pain and suffering.
The reality that a human being could stoop so low as to inflict deliberate harm on an innocent creature shakes us to our core. It’s a grim reminder of the need for the work we do, and the urgency with which we must do it.
But cannot do this without your help. It’s times like these when our community’s collective kindness and power can truly make a difference.

OMG poor Chico , I’m she’ll shocked that a human being did this to a defenceless animal. I feel sick to the core and I’m so angry . I don’t have much but every time I have money leftover it’s for Chico, this is my 4th time donating for this little dog that I’ve fallen in love with, he’s a little fighter and so trusting after everything he’s been through I really can’t thank you all enough for what you have done for him and all the other animals in your care. Chico does look so much better, with the added weight and blood transfusions. I know the new development about the pellet in his shoulder is a setback with him becoming a healthy and happy pup, but he’s getting better. Viktor, I think he likes the girls more, he knows what’s what. I wish the best and fastest recovery. He has angels helping him every step of the way and for that I am truly grateful!!!
Chico’s sweetness and trust, after all he has been through, touched my heart. He is such an innocent loving dog who wants so much to love and be loved in return. I’m donating what I can to help him heal. Your specialized veterinary staff is amazing.
