Today was a very emotional day at our hospital as we took two extraordinary survivors—Manuel and Roy. Both of these resilient dogs have stories that would break your heart, but today they are living testimonials to what can be achieved with love, care, and proper medical treatment.
Manuel was discovered abandoned on the road with a horrifying shoulder injury. It was touch-and-go for a while, but after numerous treatments and endless love, Manuel has not only recovered but is thriving.
Roy had a life none of us would wish on our worst enemies. Abused and left to fend for himself on the streets, Roy suffered a traumatic injury to his head, leading to what is termed ‘internal decapitation.’ This means a severe disconnection between his skull and vertebrae, affecting muscles and sinews. The odds were against him, but Roy refused to give up. Today, he is a testament to resilience and the spirit of survival.
In today’s video, we feature the sterilization of Roy, a critical procedure that every animal rescue group must prioritize to prevent overpopulation and suffering.
As heartwarming as these stories are, they come at a cost. The road to recovery for animals like Manuel and Roy is long, strenuous, and financially taxing. Procedures like the ones Roy underwent today are absolutely necessary but also costly. We can’t do this without your support.
