Two weeks ago, we brought Chico into our care from a situation so horrific, words can hardly describe it. With sunken eyes, brittle fur, and so many maladies wracking his tiny frame, we honestly didn’t know if he would make it through the night. But not only did Chico survive that first agonizing night, he showed us—and the world—what resilience truly means.
Chico is not just a survivor; he’s a fighter in the fullest sense of the word. This incredible dog has shown us the true depth of his courage and the undying strength of his spirit. He is fighting against the odds, defying everyone’s expectations and reminding us why we do the work that we do.
Today, we visited Chico at the hospital, not only to monitor his progress but also to give him a small token of love—something we knew would lift his spirits. As soon as we handed it to him, his eyes lit up, and for a moment, he was just a regular dog, delighted ...
While Chico has shown remarkable improvement, he’s not out of the woods yet. He’s still grappling with anemia and may require another blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. The road to recovery is still long, and fraught with medical challenges.
Chico’s battle isn’t over, and he needs all the support he can get to overcome the hurdles that lie ahead. His treatment is intensive and costly; he requires medications, potential transfusions, and specialized care to bring him back to health.
