The criminal called him to come closer, as close as possible, so as not to miss. He must have talked to him sweetly to keep him still. Then he jabbed the rifle in his side and shot him.
The bullet destroyed everything that came in its way… skin, muscle and bone. The bone exploded into a thousand fragments, and then the bullet exited on the other side. BUT IT DID NOT KILL HIM.
We’ve called him HERO, because he is a hero, because he has faced death and pain with courage and dignity.
Stunned by the impact, HERO stumbled to the ground… he dragged himself away and sought refuge in some bushes.
We have no idea how long he was there, but to go by the state of his injuries, more than a week, ten days… finally, someone saw and approached him and, exhausted, he let himself be helped.
HERO is at our Intensive Care Unit. Our team is fighting to stabilise him. He has lost a lot of blood and the wound is infected.
The state of the bone is awful, BUT WE ARE GOING TO TRY TO SAVE HIS LEG!!
P.S. When he has recovered, HERO will need a wonderful home, where he will be loved and cared for as he deserves…
If you think that home could be yours, please write to me and send me photos of your animals to firstname.lastname@example.org
