We received an urgent call for help… A cat is seriously injured, with a broken jaw; he has lost most of the skin! As soon as he saw him, the local vet recommended euthanasia.
NO! HOW EASY IT IS FOR SOME VETS TO RECOMMEND KILLING!
We asked them to bring him to us urgently… his condition is severe, as he is unable to eat or drink and will die in a few days.
We’ve called him SAM. He is terrified and does not yet understand that we are trying to help him. SAM has multiple jaw fractures, fracture of the symphysis, fracture of the right temporomandibular joint, fracture of the pre-sphenoid bone and displacement of bone fragments.
His blood test results are terrible. He has lost a lot of blood and was transfused as soon as he arrived, administering analgesia. Jaw fractures are extremely painful and that’s the first thing to be controlled.
We performed a CT scan to see the extent of the fractures. The image speaks for itself…
PLEASE WATCH HIS VIDEO… IT’S AWFUL!
SAM NEEDS SURGERY… WE HAVE TO RECONSTRUCT THE JAW AND REPOSITION THE SKIN!
P.S. When he has recovered, SAM will need a wonderful family to give him a home where he is safe for ever.
If you think that family could be yours, please email me and send me pictures of your animals, firstname.lastname@example.org
